hi i'v been seriously think about getting a microdermal at the base of my hand near my thumb, i have 10 piercings in my ears and have my nose done and none of them have rejected, however i have really thin blood and tend to bleed vigorously from small cuts, would this be a problem? mm how much do they cost? and do you think my wrist would be an alright place to get one?
thanks heaps :)

I got two HIP microdermals about nine weeks ago. (one on each hip) They both seemed to be healing fine but recently the right one is really red and hurts. I've been treating it with extra care and it seems to be getting better. Sometimes I can see the bar coming out of my skin, especially when I first got it and when it was red but now it seems okay.

The pain was not as bad as I expected but it did hurt. I also have my nose and recently got my navel done and I would have to say the microdermals definately did hurt more.

I paid $74 for two of them but that was only because the place i got them done at was running a special - 1 for $45 and $25 for every one after that.

As far as catching them on things,
it does happen but I have had no serious problems with it.
My pants did not affect it that much however, i have long nails and I seems to catch my nails on them a lot.

Overall, I love my microdermals and I would recommend them rather than getting surface piercings. The process took probably only five minutes,
but I did get sick after i got them done. I blacked out for a minute and ended up throwing up in the bathroom.
So I would advise you to have someone else drive you there and they can help if you get sick!

Hope this helps!

Helloo :) So I was wondering what the general infection rate is? I wanted to have one on my cheekbone and I really REALLY don't want it to get infected. I understand that the better care is taken the less likely but sometimes it just happens anyway...

ok so i got my micro dermal above my cleavage, and now the last 2 days i've noticed that my jewel is like leaning forward and it looks like the top is trying to poke thru.
i hope it's not rejecting it, cuz i've had it for 10 months and i like it a lot. i haven't snagged it on anything or caught it on anything, but i am kinda "chesty" so i was wondering if my sleeping wrong could have done something or how can i fix this??? i don't want it to come out or rejuect... this site has helped a lot!
to answer any questions about the airport, no you don't get stopped or buzzers don't go off... i went on 2 trips since i've had mine and all was totally fine.
i'm seeing my piercer tomorrow am asap, it just scars me it actually looks like a little pimple about the jewel, and just curious if any one has had this or how to stop it??? thank you!!

Just so everyone knows. You do NOT have to remove any body jewelry for Ct scans.. That is only for Mri's because of the magnetic field. Wich ct's do not have. the mri machine won't necessarily pull out your jewelry but it will heat up and may possibly burn you. Plus damage the machine in the process. And that is correct. They use titanium now a days for implants. Not steel. So titanium jewelry may be ok. I'd have to look into that. I work in radiology. So, i'll get back to you all on that.

So I also have hip MD's and I love them. I have had them for about 2 years, but I am curious as to what I have to do with pregnancy, will I have to get them removed? Any suggestions?

Thanks!
