I've been wanting my hips done for a few months now so I've done tons of research on them and what I've found out is that the dermals have a WAY less rejection rate than the surface. I play softball and was a little concerned about it because I pitch, but turns out one of the other pitchers on my college team has two dermals on each side and she says it doesn't bother her running or anything. She also said that the digging part doesn't really hurt but when they pop them in its like a big pinch. She hasn't had any problems and she's had them for about 6 months now. I will be getting them over Christmas breaks they have enough time to heal and I'll repost on how they do :)

kimarie: if you play sports, DEFF don't get your hips pierced. and to everyone else: if you're scared its gonna hurt and thats whats holding you back..DONT GET IT DONE. you'll suck up and endure the pain if its something you really want so keep that in mind. ps...stay away from chain link bracelets with your hips...i ripped my left half way out :( awful but i got it redone and its a myth that it hurts worse because theres more scare tissue. just a myth. didn't hurt any more or less

i got my hips pierced a week ago and it sorta hurt but mine is doing just fine except my right side, the guy who did it made the wholes too far apart so the skin is pushing against the disks(balls) and the skin is like trying to heal over the disk and i dont know what to do i have band-aids with holes in them so the barbell can go through them and the disk isnt physically touching the skin but i dont like the band aids they look dumb does anyone have any ideas to help this

It was $40 for both sides for me, but if you go to a really reputable place it's about 80-90$ for both sides. If you are doing sports I wouldn't even bother getting them I did the same thing and it really was quite painful whenever I did basketball or running or even going up the stairs. If possible I'd get the bioplast get pierced with that because it moves with your body and is flexible. Mine did reject tho. Theyre an amazing piercing but the scars are terrible. Just weigh up the options and go with your instincts. Hope that helps.

I've been thinking about getting my hips pierced for awhile now, lots of my friends have gotten them done and none of theirs seem to have had any problems. I just wanted to know if getting microdermal implants or the actual piercing would be a better idea?
