That's pretty wicked.  Have you had any problems with them healing or rejecting?

thanx but rejecting has not been an issue, i did get it caught as i was in the shower and i think from that pull it raised a bit from one end, as for healing well as careful as one tries to be i have come into contact with a wall, tangled in the hair of the gf and it still puzzles me as to why people feel the urge to touch it without asking?!?! but since it is a surface bar and if the impact is mild enough it swells up from both ends but within a few days it goes down. at times i wonder if an achor/dermal piercing would have better healing results? When people say they want i tell them they have to consider their habits and possibly change or even loose simple everyday things for example sleeping habits, type of clothing they wear, being intimate with significant other, swimming etc. They all play a key role into getting piercings in such a delicate area plus on top of that the wrist is always in movement so i have been told by numerous pro's that there is a chance that it will not heal 100% because of its location. so far all is well, and correct me if i am wrong but i am told that a piercing of this nature should be removed after 5-6 years???

I've never heard of a piercing having a "shelf life".  As long as you don't experience any complications, I see no reason to take it out in any given amount of time.

It is a rather extreme piercing and will take more attention than most piercings but since you've already made your bed I'm relatively certain you know that.

thanx for the .02 cents. is not my plan to remove it anytime soon or years down the road but knowing its location i know there is a high chance and well aware it will get caught on something and do some serious damage and belive you me that is not going to be a pretty picture and i will most def post pix of the aftermath but for now its there striking up conversations

Hi hectikillusions,

A quick question.  What is the pain factor in getting a surface piercing like that?

hi missy blue

well i have several tattoos and belive you me that set of surface piercing was my 1st piercing done not even my ears are done, not knowing what to expect i still wanted to go through with it. as i sat there getting the holes punched in my skin it was like a mild 2-3 and me being a skinny fellow it felt he was stabbing my bone as well (1 is weak 10 is damn who's your daddy) after the 4th stab it was reaching a high 4. now the good stuff, getting that bar pushed throught the skin was no joke that effer climbed up to a high 7 i will be honest and say that at one point i felt a bit light headed but i can hold my own and have a high tolerance for pain it was all done in one seating, i trust my piercer and one side wanted to give him a hard time so it took him a good min to get her done but after it was all said and done i loved the end result. i got the staple done about a month later. that was a low 4.
As of recently (has been 1 yr) i pulled out myself one side of the surface bar sets and ehhh nothing to it but it felt strange comming out tearing the skin wrapped around it but i was shocked no blood come out and so far its healing fairly nice give that a mild 3. i will replace in about a month with dermal/anchor piercings
I have pictures of my lady friend getting her surface set if you all want to check them out but they are cell phone quality. just let me know.

i warned you, here goes! like i said they are from cell so dont get all excited...... the last pic is the aftermath, she removed it 7 months later and i took this pic recently (it has been almost a year since she got them) looks like she will carry a little piece of me from here on out  Grin she removed them because of some kind of surgery not related to the piercing. ER said it was a must ?!?!

That's some cool shit, but I'd never get it done.  There's just too much chance of something happening to it.

If i pierce something i want the best possible chance of keeping it forever.
